Three of the existing adventure trails (Napoleon Trail, Forest Trail, Ottonian Trail) are to be redesigned for the "Middle Saale Valley Nature Experience Region". The idea is to create a kind of model region with recognition value, which on the one hand can be transferred to other existing trails in Jena and on the other hand will also set a supra-regional example for modern and sustainable nature experience trails.



The main task was to design the individual station elements of all three trails.



A modular system of information carriers, information boards, action elements and (structural) extras was created, which can be adapted to the different themes of the stations and also to future trails.



The guiding element is the "tree", as an iconographic information carrier. The alienated version of a robinia trunk, sourced from the regional Jena forests, becomes an artistic body through a specific coat of paint and its reduced form. It is flexible and therefore interchangeable, carries the information signs and campaign elements and fulfills various sustainability aspects.



Two differently sized metal panels with a paper look, in the "flexible" or "static" versions, are used to convey information. They form a material contrast to the more "natural" robinia trunks.
