The existing green corridor of the Gropiusstadt housing estate, which was built in the 1960s, needed a "refresh" in terms of its design and adaptation to current uses and accessibility. To this end, the network of paths in the first construction phase to the east of Vogelwäldchen has now been revised and supplemented with new connections. The paths were given new water-permeable surfaces. The square-like entrances to the green corridor were strengthened by widening and redesigning them. Along the main path, which is shaded by treetops, recreational areas and communication spaces were created with spacious tableaus - the "gropions". This is where people sit, chat, climb or wait for school to start in the morning and, from the afternoon onwards, lie down and relax while enjoying the view of the meadows and what is happening in the green corridor.
