Open space design Kamp, Bad Doberan Renovation and design of the listed park, public participation

The Kamp is the green center of Bad Doberan. Its origins date back to around 1800, when the town became the ducal summer residence and place of entertainment for the bathing society under Friedrich Franz I. With the renovation of the listed grounds, paths and trees were restored and extensive shrub planting was added. Various new play objects have also been added. The light-colored wooden figures are inspired by the history of the site: they are reminiscent of the Doberan citizens' cattle pasture and the ducal summer guests who used to enjoy themselves here in the evenings after swimming in the Baltic Sea. A floor-level water feature has been inserted between the historic pavilions. It offers fun for young and old and provides cooling on hot summer days.
