Jena University Hospital New construction of parks, forecourt and inner courtyards

The site is located on the eastern Saale slope to the south of Jena's city center; the terrain slopes steeply to the southwest. The main pedestrian access is via the "Campusplatz", a tree-lined square that functions as both a reception area and a transition point. It is linked to all existing routes in the surrounding area. The site offers places for different users of all ages, such as patient gardens, play areas and inner courtyards designed as 'green islands', and rainwater is retained and evaporated by a water garden in the northern part of the hospital grounds and by the architecturally designed moat on the campus square.
