Jury verdict: The design deftly handles the challenge of creating a serene garden space in the smallest footprint, characterized by few design elements. Simple large, light-coloured patio slabs, tall grasses, a solitary pine tree, bamboo and light.

The tranquil surfacing leads from the building to the planted areas that border the garden to the surrounding walls. Four spotlights illuminate one of the exposed concrete garden walls. The small garden spandrel that is created in the triangular garden plot is cleverly covered with a small bamboo planted embankment. All in all, the contemplative atmosphere created by the deliberate minimalism is convincing.
