An overhanging lookout was created from 2 Euro shipping containers, secured by a support calculated by the structural engineer (KREUTZFELDT Ingenieurbüro für Bauwesen GbR).

According to the specifications of the maintenance and development plan, the bottom of the pit, which was closed down in the 1960s, was cleared of trees, various deposits were removed and a site mosaic with varying moisture and lime-salt content was created.

Walk along the marl pit
The development concept includes a walk along the edge of the pit, which is freely accessible up to the fence, and a walk through the pit (as part of guided tours by the Department of Environment and Urban Greenery, LH Hannover).
