With the completion of the approximately two-kilometre-long Binnensee south promenade, a further element of the overall concept was realised, with which Heiligenhafen is gradually modernising its tourist infrastructure.
The aim of the measure was to activate the unattractive, unstructured south shore of the Binnensee with the charm of the 1970s by integrating a uniform design with a high experience value into the urban promenade concept.
From the Steinwarder bridge (connection to the marina promenade), the newly designed Binnensee south promenade extends over a length of approx. 2 km in the direction of the holiday park. This opens up in two stages with a pedestrian promenade and a separately guided bicycle promenade.
The experience of the element of water is enhanced by additional wooden walkways in the area of the Binnensee, which allow direct access to the water at six points as wooden walkways or wooden decks as viewing platforms.
In particular for the target group of families with small children and medium and high income are several, regularly spaced and thematically arranged play areas planned.
In order to make the promenade also in the evening hours experiencable and to offer a high quality of stay, a varied light design is realized, which iluminates this landscape space in different colorings.
It is created an experience promenade, which fits into the natural and landscape space as a matter of course and meets the needs of all target groups, whether young or old.
