For many years, the magistrate of the city of Frankfurt and the park residents were concerned with the desire to restore the former Rothschild Park in the historic center of Frankfurt.
The objective included the beautification and revitalization of this significant area , served the recovery of a part of the park lost due to war influences and the repair of existing areas.
The design emphasis is on emphasizing the quality of lingering and recreation in what was originally Frankfurt's oldest garden.
Special attention was paid to the elaboration of visual relationships in the terrain and the preservation, maintenance and revitalization of the historic shrub and tree population.
The area acquired in the 19th century by the Frankfurt banking family Rothschild was repeatedly changed and expanded.
After the 2nd World War, the then main entrance and the Rothschild Palace fell victim to demolition and overbuilding. In the 50's and 60's the property in the possession of the city of Frankfurt was reduced in favor of new building plots.
With the construction of the Opera Tower, the now public, inner-city park could be opened to the south again.
Since the ceremonial reopening on 12.07.2010, newly laid paths ,visual axes and generous meadow areas invite visitors to explore and enjoy the historically significant park.
