As an urban development gesture, the main entrance is placed on Michael-Ende-Strasse and thus becomes a generous neighbourhood square in the densely built-up residential area: a public space with a representative entrance, shady trees and seating.

The large tree-lined break yard at the rear uses the adjacent park as a visual extension.
The open space responds to the split-level in the building with low retaining walls and thus seating and play opportunities. A school garden can be planted individually by students while serving as a "green classroom" for outdoor instruction. In the centre of the playground is a compact, two-storey playhouse, which provides age-appropriate play for 500 pupils and after-school children with giant slides, climbing ropes, hammocks and an integrated bouldering wall. The surrounding asphalt surfaces are painted and can be used as a bicycle - traffic practice area as well as a play and exercise area during breaks.
On Kurt-Karl-Doberer-Strasse, in the south of the site, a row of narrow-crowned trees mediates between the school building and the street space.
