The spa park of the municipality of Ostseebad Prerow is located directly at the main crossing to the beach and pier. A curved path leads from the area of the open-air stage through the spa gardens. Individual islands, also ellipsoidal in shape, are arranged along the path in the style of the new open-air stage area. The theme of the islands deals with the art and nature garden. The aim is to meet the increasing interest of guests and locals in culture, leisure, nature and tranquillity. The individual islands are complemented with arranged planting beds. The redesign of the open-air stage integrates the concert shell into an enlarged square area in the shape of an ellipse. In front of the concert shell, a free-standing membrane construction by K.TA Architekten provides a roof that can be used all year round. The new plaza area will be used for various concerts throughout the season, but is also multi-functional for other events due to the mobile seating.
The new function building by Hass Briese Architects creates opportunities for year-round catering and integrates restroom facilities.
Near the pier is also the playground on the dike, which offers under
the theme of driftwood a child-friendly design incorporating the existing conditions and an enhancement of the open space qualities.
A nature trail leads through the spa park and also runs along the Prerowstrom.
Through the coordinated general planning, a coordinated concept was created far beyond the boundaries of the spa park.
