In 2017, the bdla awarded the German Landscape Architecture Prize for the 13th time. The first prize goes to the project "Rheinboulevard" in Cologne-Deutz, designed by Planorama Landschaftsarchitektur, Berlin. In the 13th year, for the first time, project submissions and the determination of nominations took place exclusively online. The eleven judges appointed by the bdla, under the direction of jury chair Ursula Hochrein, lohrer.hochrein, Munich, examined the 30 nominated works.

The jury awarded First Prize and prizes in the categories "Use of Plants", "Green Infrastructure as a Strategy", "Neighbourhood Development / Living Environment", "Participation and Planning", "Nature Conservation and Landscape Experience", "Sport, Play, Movement", "Climate Adaptation and Sustainability", "Light in Open Space" and "Landscape Architecture in Detail".
