Jury verdict: The work of the Berlin office TOPOTEK1 in Zurich is bold, clear and consistent in every detail. The sequence of 13 football pitches, a baseball field and a skate park in a very confined space in - to put it kindly - a heterogeneous urban environment, with an almost complete absence of landscape at the same time, would have been a task to despair of.
Through the reduction to the essential elements and their skilful elaboration in every detail, as well as the consistent use of colour, it is possible to create a new piece of landscape from a useful and exclusively utility-oriented facility that can no longer be increased in density.
