The overall FrankfurtHochVier project comprises the construction of a new office and hotel tower, the reconstruction of the former Thurn- und Taxis Palais and the construction of a new shopping mall on the Zeil. The square and path areas created by these urban edges link the Zeil with Stiftstraße and Große Eschenheimer Straße. The design of the outdoor facilities takes up this connection and implements it creatively with a uniform, paved floor covering of natural stone paving. The natural flow of pedestrians is thematically taken up and is reflected in the structures of the paved areas in form and colour. Undulating strips of light and dark granite paving run around the Thurn- und Taxis Palais, following the pathways and flowing through the ground floor of the shopping mall. Sculptural seating elements as a special design in coloured exposed concrete offer places to stay at the entrance areas.
