Stadtmauerpark Weilheim - jardin de l'amitié Upgrading of the green area 'Am Riß' in front of the historic city wall

Along the historic town wall around the town centre of Weilheim run green spaces, which until now have mainly been decorative accessories on the edge of the inner town bypass and have little amenity quality.
The upgrading of these areas with supplementary uses and measures to increase the quality of the stay will create open spaces in the heart of the town that can be used in many ways, taking into account the increasing need of citizens for public green areas for community, recreation and communication without compulsion to consume.
The first building blocks of this upgrading are an extension of the city balcony in front of a south-exposed free-standing wall area in combination with a new boules court in an existing lawn area 'Am Riß'.
At a ceremonial inauguration with a delegation from the French twin city, the previously nameless green space was named 'jardin de l'amitié - garden of friendship'.
