Participation Park Weinstadt

With the Weinstadt Participation Park, a new type of park is being created, consisting of a melange of private, agricultural and public areas. The park is being developed as the green city centre of Weinstadt and exemplifies participation and urban agriculture.

The Weinstad participatory park has the potential to realize integrative open spaces where the increasingly differentiated society can come together again. The goal is an integrated park management in which actors in cooperation with the city take over the coordination, use, further development and maintenance of the areas. In this way, the participatory park implements a contemporary landscape architecture that offers a fixed framework in which the content is flexible and can be continuously negotiated by the users.

The park is coordinated and planned by A24 Landschaft and realized with a number of local partners. The project is funded within the framework of the federal programme National Urban Development Projects and is accompanied by the BBSR as a model project in the ExWoSt research field Green Urban Labs.
