Schlossschule Heppenheim © Nikolai Benner Riehl Bauermann + Partner
The schoolyard of the Schlossschule Heppenheim was extensively renovated. The new design of the surfaces visually guides the user into the different areas of the schoolyard and leaves enough space in the center for flexible use.
A separation of movement zone and rest zone was formed by the creation of seating and lounging plateaus: Zone of resting, waiting and meeting. A play and climbing landscape along the western edge of the courtyard, a football field and a table tennis table create a more intensive movement space for the students. In addition to a tree house, the play and climbing landscape consists of various balancing, hanging and climbing structures and offers the children numerous opportunities for movement.
The surfacing in the schoolyard was completely replaced. In the area of the play and climbing landscape, an even fall protection surface in a colour that matches the rest of the surfaces serves to protect the children.
