The aim of the project is to welcome and look after the large number of visitors to Sanssouci Palace in an appropriate manner and to provide them with the best possible information about the extensive range of activities on offer. In addition, basic gastronomic needs are to be met and souvenirs offered. The buildings with their various functions - which can be quickly grasped by visitors - are grouped around open spaces, which are divided into three sub-areas.
The Remisenhof is enclosed on three sides by the mill house, coach house and access ramp to the historic mill. It is clearly recognizable as a single room or courtyard area and opens onto the street "An der Orangerie". It is currently used as access to the mill house, a parking area and a garbage dump. The courtyard area, made of fieldstone paving from the period of construction, is in great need of renovation.
The future arrival and square area at the Schweizer Haus is located directly along the street "An der Orangerie". The space cannot be experienced today, as there is still a temporary souvenir store and a toilet container in this area. The open space is to be completely rebuilt.
The aim of the SPSG is to have an arrival point where the individual buildings with their various functions are located.
The green spaces between Maulbeerallee and the Mühlenhaus and to the west of the Wagenremise are already used as green spaces. The areas are not very representative and are only perceived as residual areas (distance green). The areas must be adapted in terms of planning with new functions.
