People's Park Friedrichshain

Sculptures based on fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm.

After the end of the war, the sculptures disappeared and were not found again until 1950 in a vegetable garden in Friedrichshain.

After 1990 vandalism became a permanent problem. The figures were damaged and sprayed with graffiti. In 2005, the sculptures, which had been removed as a precaution, were cleaned, the damaged parts were replaced and the fountain was comprehensively restored in keeping with its status as a historic monument.
