German Landscape Architecture Prize 2019

At their meeting in the German Architecture Centre, the eleven judges appointed by the bdla, led by jury chair Prof. Inga Hahn, Hahn Hertling von Hantelmann, Hamburg/Berlin, sifted through the 35 nominated works, awarding the First Prize and awards in nine categories: Public Space as Centre, Living Environment, Use of Plants, Nature and Landscape Experience, Sport, Play, Movement, Young Landscape Architecture, Landscape Architecture in Detail, International Projects and Working Environment.

The prize, which has been awarded every two years since 1993, honours exemplary projects and their authors. The subject matter is socially and ecologically oriented settlement and landscape development as well as contemporary open space planning. The prize is awarded for outstanding planning achievements, including conceptual ones, which demonstrate aesthetically sophisticated, innovative and ecological solutions.

The award was presented at a ceremony in Berlin on 20 September 2019. On this occasion, the award-winning and honoured works were presented to the public.
