The office of Axel Lohrer and Ursula Hochrein was founded in 1993 and is based in Munich with further offices in Magdeburg and Perach am Inn. As landscape architects and urban planners, we deal with open space, preferably in the interplay between urban density and landscape expanse. In open dialogue, in interdisciplinary teams, in competitions or as judges, we look for the distinctive character of a place as the basis for our own design work.

From the place - from its history and its potentials - we formulate, individually adapted to the respective task, our own landscape architectural language and try to develop appropriate, simple and flexible solutions. From the initial idea, through the urban planning concept and the landscape architectural object planning, we endeavour to realise the attitude adopted in each case down to the last detail. Thus, the supervision of all phases of the HOAI, sound craftsmanship, efficiency and cost awareness for emergence and maintenance are natural for us.
