In the 5th construction phase, the outdoor facilities including all roads, paths and parking spaces were newly created. In the vicinity of the listed former cultural center of the Ministry of State Security, ID number 09156792 on the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg, the outdoor facilities were designed in coordination with the Lower Monument Protection Authority. The differently designed areas offer a broad spectrum for communication and retreat in the lively university environment: a beach volleyball court, table tennis tables and a fitness trail provide opportunities for sporting activities for staff and students. The infiltration systems for decentralized rainwater management have been integrated into the design and are used by students in a variety of ways as open spaces, in the form of lawns or equipped with benches. In the central area of the university campus there is a pond with reed beds, which serves to supply the property with extinguishing water and is fed with rainwater. Spacious green areas, building-related open spaces, quiet inner courtyards and an outdoor teaching area can be integrated into learning and teaching activities, as well as into the work routines of employees, or used during leisure time and promote identification with the university's location.
