The grounds of the Max Planck Institute Bad Nauheim are located in the direct vicinity of the grounds. Magnolias, birches and amber trees complement the neighbourhood to the Kurpark, from which it is separated only by the Usa. The location on the river characterizes the surroundings, whereby the bank on the side of the Max Planck Institute offers views into the Kurpark due to its elevated position.
The design for the outdoor facilities reflects this landscape situation. The upper edge of the embankment to the Usa, which will also be used in parts for the future fire brigade bypass, is playfully accompanied by the pathway, which accentuates the course of the river and connects the Max Planck Institute directly to the Kurpark via a bridge. The site is given a landscaped design with surface modelling that mediates from the new building into the landscape and the access road into the graded landscape image and sets its own accents through its fan-shaped form and flower colour.
