As the first building block of the bdla's new online strategy, the "ParcView" portal was developed and launched for experts and, in particular, interested laypersons such as citizens and tourists interested in culture. Due to this broad orientation of the information transfer, the cultural significance of landscape architecture is thematized as a new approach in the portal "ParcView". Cultural thematic clusters form the basis of the information transfer and sharpen the understanding of landscape architecture by pointing out thematic references to cultural assets, cultural institutions and open spaces in Berlin. They are translated into the form of spatially concrete online exhibitions that can be experienced in real and virtual terms. "Landscape Architecture as Cultural Heritage," "Gardens of Museums and Galleries," "Open Spaces as Places of Remembrance," and "Wall Strip Parks" kick off this new format. Special, newly developed narrative methods, such as the story or the time fade, encourage playful and individual discovery of the site. The integration of videos supports the emotional appeal to the user and makes it possible to get an idea of the intentions and working methods of the landscape architects.
In addition, the mobile website mobil.parcview.de is available for smartphones free of charge and without prior installation on the Internet for the exploration tour through the open spaces of the Berlin KulturLandschaften.
