The so-called "Hexenbürgermeisterhaus" occupies a special position among the important architectural monuments of the city of Lemgo.
Built during the Weser Renaissance, the magnificent town house now houses a museum, which was supplemented by a contemporary extension in 2004.
In a free interpretation of earlier bourgeois ways of life, no green garden was created behind the ensemble of buildings, but a simple, fortified courtyard: today, despite public use, an intimate, almost private space in the middle of the city.
