The Erik-Blumenfeld-Platz is a traffic island at the central public transport junction, which received a new café building. The specification was a preliminary design agreed with the city of Hamburg, which had to be implemented in a functional design. The main connection to the actual station building leads across the square, accompanied by a row of trees. Coloured concrete walls compensate for the difference in height and separate the square design from the main road. Quality of stay is offered above all in the rear, quieter area.
On the front sides, green spaces frame the square area. The motif of the impressive old black pine was taken up in a new group of pine and birch.
