Perennial carpets and flowering instead of purely technical development

The basic idea of the open space design is based on the baroque garden forms of the castle garden - historical garden parterres are interpreted in a modern way as a "grid":
- Diagonal lawn axes with herb carpets and mats create the connection to the new building wing. The open space will be furnished with various textural, color, and material cushions.
- Creation of an alternating wet gravel or planting bed for the infiltration of the rainwater from the paved areas.
- Necessary traffic access roads are covered by suitable materials (large stone / small stone paving, etc.), so that delivery, turning and fire brigade roundabout are ensured.
- The plantings are selected in accordance with the individual plant mats and cushions in different heights and structures.
- Some of the elevated rooftop trellises will be accented with shade tolerant ornamental roses as well as perennial roses.
- The open space along the existing wall - near the Guddensaal - is limited by a living hedge.
