The municipality of Holzwickede has a remarkable spatial-creative potential in its centre, which is formed by the triad of town hall / market place, church and churchyard and Emscherpark.

The very historic town hall dominates the spacious market place, which plays an important role in the life of the municipality (weekly market, Christmas market, funfair).

The also very beautiful church at the market, together with the town hall, shapes the town centre in structural terms and at the same time forms the southern spatial edge of the market place.
