The new building of the Gifhorn Clinic with a total investment of around EUR 60 million is part of the social and health campus.
A new access road connects the functional areas of the clinic. Visitors arriving from the parking lots to the south and from the bus stops are guided to the main entrance via the forecourt. The spacious, partly roofed square area with a fountain at the café terrace, seating at island-like flower beds and a row of gleditschias is the lively meeting and recreation area. Service providers and shops are located around the main entrance of the clinic.
Generous inner courtyards serve as orientation: all four courtyards refer to the adjacent wards and functions in the building.
The "overflow parking lot" and employee parking lot is located on the northern property line parallel to the access road from Hamburger Straße.
All rainwater is infiltrated via swales. The alternation of linear rows of trees in the area of the parking spaces and the main entrance and random-looking tree locations accompanying the watercourse and in the open spaces to the east makes reference to the buildings and surroundings.
The inner development road and the extension of the south bordering federal road was implemented with a traffic planner as a subcontractor in terms of planning.
