The ramparts between the streets "Schmiedhof", "Steinerne Wiese" and "Katzensprung" are part of the northern city wall ring. With the reconstruction of the ramparts as a continuous green corridor, the historic site has been taken into account in terms of the preservation of monuments and the cityscape. The open space should continue to meet today's usage requirements as a green area. The greatest challenge was to combine the two conflicting functions - the function of the monument and today's usage requirements.
The open space "Katzensprung" is the prelude to the historic ramparts. The visitor is led into the ramparts through a pergola with a border. The open space opens up into a large meadow landscape, over which the path continues in a gentle curve. Along the way, shrubbery, seating areas and a playground are integrated. Spring flowers accentuate the lawn; individual groups of trees play around the paths.
