Sports facility Hinter den Gärten in Langenfeld

The renovation of the facility included the revision of the large playing field, the running track, the long jump facility and the walkways with the accompanying lawns. The work was carried out after completion of the new sports hall built by the building management of the city of Langenfeld.

The sports facility serves the HSV Langenfeld as an additional training facility and as a venue for point games in girls' and women's soccer. Furthermore, it provides the adjacent schools and the inner-city residential area with differentiated usable outdoor sports areas. Unfortunately, public use as intended by the developer is not a matter of course with many newly built artificial turf pitches.

The existing turf surface was in need of major renovation and was replaced with an artificial turf surface filled with sand and rubber granules.
The sprint track had to be reduced by one running lane because of the obstacle-free spaces. The remaining three lanes received a new Type D waterproof synthetic surface. The sprint track also serves as a run-up track for the new long jump pit.
The awkwardly located standing steps along half of the eastern long side were dismantled and replaced by a seating wall.
The existing drainage facilities of the sports areas into the adjacent stream were dismantled or taken up and now drain into a trough-rigol system.
