The motorway corner connection A 281 construction section 3 serves the improved development of the freight traffic centre and the ports in Bremen. The planning challenge was, among other things, the urban integration of the motorway into the surrounding area and the management of nature conservation issues, as the western section runs between the edge of the settlement and a NATURA 2000 conservation area.
Construction phase 3/1 was handed over to traffic in January 2008, construction phase 3/2 has been implemented since July 2008.

Based on the technical support of the planning approval procedure (preparation of EIS and LBP) by the planning group green, the object planning was elaborated.
Planning objectives of the 3rd construction phase were the minimization of the interventions (avoidance requirement) through minimal cross-sectional design and integration of the motorway with ecologically designed embankments as well as the networking of the open spaces (paths, green corridors), nature (water bodies, wetland biotopes) and the involved actors. The environmental design and networking of the adjacent residential quarters and open spaces was achieved through crossing possibilities, ecologically upgraded green corridors and newly revitalised path relationships in the open landscape.
The creation of alternative habitats for flora and fauna of the water bodies, banks, reeds and ruderal flora in the run-up to the road construction measure in a network of wetland biotopes as well as the improvement of the biotope structures within the Bremen wetland green belt away from the route are among the measures of ecological permeability. In an interdisciplinary workshop, the solution approach for the "Ecological Design of the Mühlenhauser Fleet" was developed. In addition, the early involvement of the local advisory council and the founding of the "Pusdorfer Meile e.V." association for the development of a green corridor close to residential areas has been able to involve stakeholders in the planning process at an early stage.

Jury Verdict:: The title of the planning submitted for the award "Zwischen Hightech, Laubenpieper und Natura 2000" (Between high tech, allotment gardeners and Natura 2000) already illustrates the highly diverse area uses and
designations in the planning area. For example, the eastern section runs between the Wolmertshausen neighborhood and allotments, while the western section was to be developed along commercial
zones and a Natura 2000 conservation area. A further special challenge is the different prior influences occurring on a relatively short stretch.

In a special and outstanding way, the landscape architects have succeeded in developing an appealingly designed solution for the different requirements of people, nature conservation, landscape architecture and traffic infrastructure.
With the Pusdorfer Meile, a coherent park association between Hakenburger See and Rablinghauser Vorfluter is being created, among other things, as a replacement for omitted allotment gardens. With the help of additional paths and renaturation measures, increased residential and recreational benefits will be achieved, especially for local residents. Suggestions of the citizens were integrated.

The Mühlenhauser Fleet connects the ditches of the nature reserve Niedervieland and Stromer Feldmark. For the FFH-relevant ditch fish species such as Steinbeißer and Schlammpeitzger the living conditions were clearly improved. A biotope complex consisting of various water habitats is being created for very different species.
Under the heading of environment-related design, near-natural elements typical of the region such as water bodies, reeds, alluvial forest and woody plants are being used in such a way that the new elements associated with the construction of the motorway blend in perfectly with the landscape and townscape.
