The high-rise building 'Alpha Rotex' (Jo Franzke Architekten) at Frankfurt Airport with its five winter gardens is the landmark of the development project 'Gateway Gardens' (internationally oriented services) that is already conspicuous from the air.
The completely underbuilt outdoor facilities respond expressively to the architecture and are the starting point of the future central mall.
Trees follow the main axes and form a central roundel, whose canopy invites visitors to linger. Temporary hedges and copses help to compensate for the still missing building volumes. Concise pavements provide orientation in the shared-space concept. With soft lines, the finely graded planting provides a calm framework for the strong building forms.
