House garden in the Bergisches Land

Oxen Architects supplemented the old building with a cubist structure that extends the living space towards the street and gives the building a new face coming from the street.
The new garden part was to be gently introduced to the new design. The 'Old Garden' needed no revision, since the owners as garden and plant lovers have already fulfilled your garden dream here.
The playful romantic 'Old Garden' was led with swinging forms around the new building and ends as a generous house and garage courtyard in strict form in front of the house access. Individual large specimen trees screen the front garden space from the street.

The kitchen was given an additional patio area on the garage with a small breakfast nook. The clinker brick used by the architects for the facade was continued as flooring.
The planting was carried out as an intensive green roof with Euonymus allatus, snowball hydrangeas and grasses. The resulting edge in the transition between the flooring and the substrate structure, was intercepted with precast concrete elements, which can also be used as a seating wall.
