The construction of the playground on Friedensstraße is justified by a clear lack of play areas in the district.
In connection with the ERDF district development project "Nördliche Vorstadt Dresden" and associated with the development of the former gasworks area, a playground is to be created within a targeted "boulevard".
In a workshop process with the citizens (children), the equipment needs (areas, materials, equipment, planting, etc.) were discussed in advance and integrated into the preliminary design and design planning. The playground includes a separation of two play areas (according to age groups). The polygonal, imaginative geometry of the functional and play areas with north-south orientation is characterized by an internal pathway. A crossing serves the future urban axis. Cross-connections and short access routes are designed with slab strips.
A band of play equipment (climbing frames, tunnel slide, platform slabs, seesaw, mud area, swings, etc.) runs through the play areas. Access is via a staircase and an existing ramp from Friedensstraße. The play areas are surrounded by paved surfaces, e.g. an asphalt roller rink.
