Water is channelled from a historic well above ground via the newly created watercourse with pools into a cistern. The existing terrain is used for this purpose. A pond liner was laid out for sealing and this was deliberately laid out with dolomite limestones so that a ripple of the water is audible.
In an initial planting, iris, fir frond, arrowhead, bloodwort, marsh marigold, etc. were used. The first creatures such as dragonfly larvae, frogs, yellow fire beetles and water striders have already settled.
As long as the water is not pumped from the well, the water stands in several pools. When the water is running, the overflow flows down a paver gutter through the yard into the cistern and is available for watering. Previously, the water was piped from the well to the cistern via a garden hose. Now, to everyone's delight, the run is openly visible.
