The car park on the derelict site, which was mainly used by the employees of the neighbouring senior citizens' centre, was relocated to the adjacent road in favour of a new generation park. Here, 13 new and orderly parking spaces were created for the employees. The open space gained allowed the existing path system to be closed into a circular path with senior-friendly surfacing.
The heart of the new park became the Holzhäuselner Graben: The course of the stream, which is deeply cut into the edge of the property and partially piped, was laid meandering through the new facility. The recreation area, designed with a flat bank and granite seating blocks, forms the centre of the park, bordered by two new bridges. The shallow shoreline offers creative opportunities for waterfront play.
Not only the seating blocks, but also a pavilion with adjacent boules area invite people to meet, linger and observe together. A shallow waterfront area now provides creative opportunities for waterfront play. Isolated benches, as well as a generous round bench with tree, offer rest and retreat possibilities. With the new Generation Park and the 15 information pillars along the paths, which describe the history of the village on the occasion of the 1250th anniversary and at the same time illuminate the park at night, Buch am Erlbach has a unique gem.
