1250 years Buch a. Erlbach

The 1250-year history, which was actively and enthusiastically shaped and celebrated for a whole year in 2009 by the entire population of the municipality of Buch with the participation of all families from great-grandchildren to grandparents, should be remembered. Thus, the mayor and the municipal council decided to establish the Generation Park. In cooperation with the local historian of the "Bucher Geschichtsboden" (historical collection of writings and utensils from the municipal area), the 1250-year history of the village was prepared. The most important years and epochs of Buch's history are presented chronologically in words and pictures at 15 stations in the Generation Park. The most important dates mark the individual history columns.

To ensure that the columns and the park can also be experienced at night, we decided to dispense with conventional lighting and instead equip the planned columns with integrated lighting.
In cooperation with a well-known lighting manufacturer and the lighting designer we trusted, we spent a long time fine-tuning the design and finally developed a prototype.

In the end, the result exceeded all expectations: The 15 columns are a real eye-catcher!

From parking lot to generation park for young and old

In order to be able to redesign the area of the future Generation Park at all, a solution first had to be found for the difficult parking situation. The wasteland was mainly used as a parking lot by the employees of the adjacent retirement home. In order to arrange new parking spaces in a bundle on the adjacent road, the course of the Holzhäuselner Graben stream had to be relocated in this area or piped...

Watercourse development

We decided to relocate the Holzhäuseln ditch and integrate it into the design: As the centrepiece of the new park, it was to be attractively staged and the element of water was to be experienced by all. The ditch was relocated over a length of approx. 50 m up to the confluence with the Erlbach. Since it is a watercourse expansion, according to § 68 Water Resources Act (WHG), the implementation of a water rights procedure was required for the granting of planning permission.

As the new ditch length was also 50 m, no course shortening took place. In the previous watercourse section, there were 2 piped crossings of 8 and 13 m in length (DN 500). These could be omitted by the trench relocation and a section-wise passability could be re-established.
