The former railway station site in Ursensollen has been redeveloped. It is a very historic place. Accordingly, the existing buildings were carefully renewed. The former platform edge is still preserved, has now been uncovered and used as the end of the paved area. A new sales pavilion was erected next to the historic WC building (a listed building). The famous Gockerlfest is held here every year, hosted by the local shooting club. In the former station building the Kolpingfamilie is accommodated, which offer mad leisure activities for children and young people.
Between ehe. Bahnhofsgebäude and WC building a tree existence worth preserving is present: a so-called peace lime tree, which reminds as a memorial of a sad incident shortly before end of the war as well as a multi-stemmige Thuja, which apparently already stood here to the enterprise of the station. The columnar, Tuscan-like growth form is taken up in the new planting and illustrates the exotic charm of the former station of departure and arrival in all countries.
As a further component of the redevelopment measures of the municipality of Ursensollen, the outdoor facilities in the area around the former railway station and at the warehouse have been redesigned in two construction phases. The newly designed area is connected in extension of the existing foot and cycle path on the former railway line (paved path) and via newly built paths in the direction of the village center and school (water-bound road surface) to the existing network of paths. A paved path has been built on the former railway line (connection between Amberg and Lauterhofen), which connects to existing footpath and cycle path connections into the village. Under a newly planted fruit meadow with flowers, one can stroll back into the village center. Here is also an art stele, which illustrates the history of the railway at this place. In memory of the railway operation, planting areas and other pavement areas are covered with basalt gravel.
The forecourt of the former. Station is paved with concrete sidewalks, some with sodded joints in the parking area. A seating area with table under an overgrown pergola with a back wall further enhances the area and invites cyclists in particular to take a rest. A direct connection between the former railway station and the warehouse was created. Railway station and warehouse. At the warehouse a generous wooden ramp leads barrier-free into the studio of the wood sculptor. At the forecourt of the warehouse the old fruit trees were preserved, supplemented by new plantings and equipped with seating.
