The design of the outdoor facilities makes use of the existing topographical and new urban situation by creating a generous outdoor play area between the new building in the west and the existing edge of the slope in the east. To the east of the building there is a spacious terrace and the central lawn. In order to distribute the high pressure of use by 150 children over the entire usable play area in the east, a play and activity area surrounds the central lawn, which is accessed from the terrace. The activity band, which is connected to individual, different play niches, works its way up along the slope topography and leads at the top to a toboggan hill and a slide area. Seating areas and a sand area offer play opportunities in the immediate vicinity of the group rooms.
The strong greenery with large deciduous trees along the entire slope edge provides
an impressive backdrop when looking out of the group rooms into the outdoor area.
The trees provide valuable shade in the summer, which makes it possible to play outside on hot days.
