Gender-appropriate and cross-generational play and sports facility

The project is part of the urban redevelopment in the area, the most important goal of which is to upgrade the public sports and recreation facilities in the Poststadion sports park. The planning took place with the active participation of resident initiatives.

The sports area on the former throwing field was designed to be gender-appropriate and intergenerational. A multifunctional lawn with a central sand area as well as a 200m long round running track made of wood chips complement the existing club sports areas with new leisure facilities.

Running track, fitness equipment and skating track

The running track serves as a jogging track and connects the various stations with the play, fitness and motor skills equipment. Equipment and design are especially addressed to girls and women as well as to families to complement the existing offers in the sports park Poststadion for these target groups. A four-metre wide path made of coloured asphalt crosses the central lawn and connects to the Döbritzer link in the south. This area is also suitable for skating and rollerblading.
