Piusplatz Munich

The basic idea of the open space design is the design of the action bands located in the middle of the courtyards. Here, play areas and meeting places are combined in a centrally accessible location. These areas are sensitively embedded between the existing large trees and accessed by a footpath in a north-south direction. Grass plantings screen the areas from the open courtyard.
In order to preserve the tree population, a common underground parking garage is assigned to the two supplementary buildings. The entrance areas of the apartments are accompanied by bicycle parking and perennial plants. A large part of the rainwater seeps into retention troughs, and forms an additional contribution to sustainable planning and building.
