A new residential complex has been built on the site of a former building materials and construction machinery warehouse and operation between Balanstraße and Kaiserslautener Platz in Munich-Ramersdorf. A closed residential row to Balanstraße minimizes the noise impact of the new development, thus the individual point houses, the common open space as well as the kindergarten with open play area are noise-protected.
The basic idea behind the entire open space design was to allow the greenery, which adjoins Kaiserslautener Platz in the south, to flow through the residential complex. Based on this objective, flowing forms were chosen for the design of the outdoor facilities. The paths were also designed with moving forms in a homogeneous surface. The outdoor area of the kindergarten is also kept in this free form language. Terrace areas, sand areas, fall protection zones and vegetation areas flow into each other. The private areas directly adjacent to the buildings are also protected by planting islands in a curved form. The garbage and bicycle houses are also integrated into the overall design by their oval shape. In the central area and in the east there are two children's play areas with various play facilities.
