The redesign of the schoolyard provides for a dual use as a play and recreation area during school hours and as a parking lot during church services.
Our guiding principle for the design of the area was a coastal landscape. Dunes formed by the sea and wind are clearly set back from the church façade in front of the school building. Yellow paved areas, laid concentrically around the hills, group the individual hills and create a mountain and valley play landscape that can be "rolled over", "owned", "walked on" and "felt". In the hills, like randomly driven stranded goods, lie wooden boxes from which trees sprout, providing the necessary shade in summer. from the east, a ship's hull - the sandbox provided with new edging and a wooden "command bridge" - pushes its way into the coastal landscape.
On the northern side of the courtyard area, sufficient space remains for 22 parking spaces, which have been marked by individual black stones in the otherwise grey-blue iridescent paved area. The side entrance of the church was designed to be handicapped accessible.
