The Richard Wagner Museum Bayreuth was expanded with a new pavilion and connected underground with the exhibition in Haus Wahnfried. In the course of this, the historic garden of Richard Wagner's residence was also renovated and continued. The necessary constructional measures blend unobtrusively into the listed ensemble and form a cautious development in the sense of the historical inventory.
A new garden area connects, closely in function and materiality, to the exhibition pavilion. Under the existing large trees, a contemplative, shady garden with leafy ornamental plants as a vegetative model is created. Small plazas with seating allow temporary outdoor exhibitions and provide a view of the adjacent park.
