The focus of the design of the Großer Blobach was the renewal of the surface paving and the functional structuring of the square. The Breitsülze (historical city water supply) is classified as a technical monument. The course of the Breitsülze stream was uncovered and renovated according to the historical image.
The square area (parking lot) of the Great Blobach was spatially bordered with rows of trees and extensively paved with a macadam surface layer on gravel substructure.
The Johannisstraße and service road at the Great Blobach was completely renewed. While the footpath areas were made of mosaic paving and diagonally laid concrete slabs (30x30), the road surfaces and square areas consist uniformly of small granite paving (or small basalt paving).
