In the course of the new construction of the "Noah's Ark" daycare center in the north of the city of Erfurt, the outdoor facilities were redesigned. In reference to the name of the daycare center, the "Noah's Ark" stands in the center of the open space in the form of a unique play ship. The main entrance is located in the northwest of the building. Between the wings of the building are two large wooden decks, which serve as play and recreation areas for the children and also provide access to the garden and play area.
The center of the open space is a playable "Noah's Ark" made of wood. Various climbing possibilities on ropes, ladders and stairs open up several floors, which in turn can be left by means of slides. Seating steps in the form of a grandstand serve for various events. The ship can be played with by the children in many different ways. It lies within an extensive sandy area, which is bordered by a "racing track" made of EPDM. This paved roller track, which runs around in an elliptical shape, serves as the main access route to the site.
