Church square Unna

With the concept of again creating a generous but simple and quiet square for and around the Protestant town church in Unna, wbp was able to convince in the competition procedure in 2006. In contrast to the lively, busy pedestrian zone, the square, which lies somewhat on the outskirts, was to develop into a rather quiet place inviting people to stay. Today, the church square opens up invitingly with its light, homogeneous paving. The dark water field, which symbolises the resources "brine and coal", which were particularly important for the economic development of Unna, lies in it as an inlay, as it were. Sitting slightly elevated in front of a restored natural stone wall, the sunniest spot of the square can now be enjoyed directly at the water feature.
