Public spaces in the 4th BA Housing Munich-Riem

The openly designed street space in the north-south direction of the 4th construction phase of Wohnen Riem widens twice to form squares, which create various recreational opportunities in different forms, as a rather stony neighbourhood square and as a more greened Anger. The open space is divided into a differentiated system of recreational and activity zones by means of open green 'columns' and concrete 'clods' rising upwards. The 'concrete clods' rise from the pavement as ramps and represent individual seating and play elements.

The southern Grüner Anger offers recreational opportunities with bench-table combinations and two grandstand-like concrete clods in front of the large lawn, as well as adult play in the form of a boules court. The squares are each highlighted with their own tree species.
