The Hellwinkel quarter is an essential part of Wolfsburg's 2011 housing offensive with the aim of creating 6,000 new apartments in Wolfsburg in the coming years.
On the approx. 16 hectare site of two adjoining allotment garden association areas in the Hellwinkel district, a sensible development is to take place in terms of urban planning, social, ecological and real estate economics. The political will is the realisation of a mixed residential quarter appropriate to the high-quality location, which meets the strong and diverse demand of a growing and socially diversifying city.
In the Hellwinkel quarter development planning, the goals and plans for the Hellwinkel quarter were concretised on the basis of three guiding principles: "Landscape and nature", "Diversity and mixture", "Neighbourhoods". Based on these interwoven threads, a dense urban building block is to be created that brings together the surrounding area and develops its distinctive character from the landscape reference typical of Wolfsburg and the mixture of different types of post-war modernist buildings.
