As part of the energy-efficient refurbishment of the Klostergartenrealschule in Sindelfingen, the redesign/redesign of the open spaces of the secondary school was commissioned. The open space was divided into three construction phases: schoolyard, service yard and north-west open space.
The schoolyard construction phase included the redesign of the courtyard access road and the schoolyard area with age-appropriate play and sports facilities and sufficient seating in the form of concrete benches. The height difference between the playground area and the entrance area was realized via a staircase with additional concrete benches and hedges. An accompanying ramp solution enables barrier-free access to the building. The existing trees were largely preserved and supplemented with three new plantings.
The BA service yard included the reorganization of the car parking spaces for the teaching staff. As in the existing building, some of the parking spaces under the existing trees were designed with grass pavers.
In the north-west open space, the outdated paths and green areas as well as the west entrance were revised and completely renovated.
